A hot first session at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale on Saturday evening produced a big result for our promising young sire Dissident with a stunning filly from Sonnenblume fetching $340,000 to be the second highest priced horse sold on the night.
Consigned by Carramar Park, the filly had a big pedigree update as she is a half-sister to this season’s impressive two year-old winner Garibaldi and was snapped up by Stuart Boman of Blandford Bloodstock.
“This filly was an outstanding physical and I thought she was the best filly, if not the best yearling in the sale,” Boman told ANZ Bloodstock.
“The brother, Garibaldi, won impressively on debut and he made a lot of money ($475,000) at this sale last year.
“He runs in a stakes race [this] week I think, so hopefully we get the update. She has a great family behind her as well and Dissident is just starting to hit his straps.
“Ultimately we bought her on her physique and on conformation, which was absolutely outstanding.”
The sale continues with many more yearlings by Dissident to be offered this week.
