The 2017 Inglis Australian Weanling Sale on Monday followed on from a small selection of weanlings offered during the Chairman’s Sale last Friday.
While our young gun Wandjina had the top lot last Friday with his colt from Ballet D’Amour (USA) that made $335,000, it was his stable mate Dissident that held the spotlight on Monday.
Middlebrook Valley Lodge offered a colt from Ajamais (Fr) that made $160,000 to the bid of Peter Ford Thoroughbreds.
He is the fourth foal of a well-bred import from the family of 2015 Champion Miler, Solow.
“There’s a really good buying bench here which has made all the difference. It’s a very good sale,” said Verna Metcalfe of Middlebrook Valley.
“We love the Dissidents, they’re great types.”
The top priced filly of the sale was also by a Newgate sire with a Sizzling filly from Zugat fetching $100,000 for Davali Thoroughbreds when secured by Aquanita Racing.
