Newgate Farm’s Australian Horse of the Year Dissident is the first son of leading sire Sebring to go to stud and his first foals are finding favour at every turn, so let’s check out the latest.
A precocious two year-old that won the Listed MRC Blue Diamond Preview on debut over 1000 metres, Dissident went on to rack up five Group I victories from 1400 to 1600 metres proving himself an outstanding sprinter miler.
His appeal to breeders is obvious and having covered 197 mares last spring, Dissident will have a stellar first crop to launch him on the racetrack when these babes turn two in 2018.
Recent new arrivals for Dissident include:
Colt Dissident x Totally Sure – for Murray Fowles at Widden Stud. First foal of a half-sister to Group III winner Tuscan Sling.
“Racing Dissident was a thrill and now to breed a colt from Totally Sure that is this good!” said breeder Murray Fowles.
Colt Dissident x Prompt – Newgate Farm. Half-brother to Group III winner Prompt Return and stakes-placed Prompt Response and Diamond Glow.
“Great body. Great head. I want a Dissident!” Sam Fairgray at Newgate.
