SF Bloodstock and Newgate Farm partnered again during the second session of the 2016 Keeneland November Breeding sale to secure a further six mares and a royally bred weanling filly for $3,955,000.
Burgeoning Hunter Valley breeding operation Newgate Farm currently boasts a roster of nine stallions, but with four outstanding prospects to join the team in 2017 – Flying Artie, Capitalist, Extreme Choice and Russian Revolution – there are plans in place to build a broodmare band worthy of such champions.
Most expensive acquisition on Tuesday at $810,000 was lot 333 Unbelievable, an unraced Fastnet Rock sibling to Champion Filly Peeping Fawn and Group I winner and sire Thewayyouare. In foal to Gleneagles in her first season at stud.
Newgate also purchased her weanling half-sister by War Front as lot 248 for $650,000. The filly is from outstanding producer Maryinsky, who traces in tail female line to Best in Show, whose descendants in Australia include champion sire Redoute’s Choice and his stellar family.
Other purchases were Group I winner Mushka, Group II winner Disposablepleasure, stakes-winners Spanish Pipedream, Joint Return and Katie’s Eyes.
