Newgate Farm enjoyed great results at the 2018 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale selling 16 yearlings in Book 1 for $5,230,000.
Our best result was a stunning I Am Invincible colt from Ten Carat Rock that made $850,000 to the bid of Domeland Pty Ltd and not far behind was the colt from the first crop of Australian Horse of the Year Dissident from Assail that made $800,000 when secured by China Horse Club/ Winstar Farm.
The Dissident colt gave his sire the distinction of achieving the highest priced yearling by any first season sire at this sale and he finished with 10 yearlings sold overall averaging $222,000.
Deep Field finished in front of his barn mate on average with eight yearlings averaging $295,000, a stunning return on his $22,000 service fee making him the second most profitable sire at this sale by multiple of fee behind only Written Tycoon.
The top seller for Deep Field was Segenhoe Stud’s colt from Group II winner Jolie Bay that made $530,000 when bought by Lucky Owners Pty Ltd.
Wandjina had six yearlings average $141,667 with his best result a filly from Pasar Silbano (IRE) that made $260,000 for Edinglassie Stud to the bid of Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners.
