Set to retire to Newgate Farm in the spring, outstanding colt Wandjina will be out to give Gai Waterhouse her first Royal Ascot victory in the Group I Diamond Jubilee Stakes early Sunday morning at 1:20 am (AEDT).
The three year-old son of Snitzel has not put a foot wrong this preparation and has thrived since his arrival at Newmarket.
To be ridden by champion jockey Damien Oliver, who gave Gai Waterhouse her first Melbourne Cup win aboard Fiorente, Wandjina will jump from gate 10.
Their tilt at Royal Ascot glory has been commemorated in this original Darren Birdie painting.
All the team at Newgate wish Wandjina the very best of luck!
