There are few more honest horses in training than three year-old Beneteau filly Prompt Response, who was foaled and raised at Newgate Farm for her owner breeders Ron Hamer and Mark Sowerby.
She earned a second stakes success last Saturday when fighting off stablemate My True Love in the $200,000 Group II BRC Dane Ripper Stakes (1350m) at Doomben.
Ridden by Tommy Berry for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Prompt Response finished fast to win by a long neck with the Group I Tatts Tiara now firmly in her sights.
“The Tattersall’s Tiara has always been out main aim. She is a filly with plenty of promise and she will get into the Tiara well under the weight conditions,” Bott said.
The daughter of Beneteau has been stakes placed three times since winning the Listed MRC Twilight Glow Stakes (1400m) at Sandown back in November and has the overall record of three wins and seven seconds from 14 starts with earnings of $537,600.
A sister to 2014 Group III VRC Maribyrnong Plate winner Prompt Return, she is the fourth foal of the Exceed And Excel mare Prompt whose first two foals are stakes-placed Diamond Glow and Hong Kong winner Mr Right.
Prompt is now in the ownership of SF Bloodstock and produced a lovely colt by Newgate Farm’s Australian Horse of the Year Dissident last spring.
