Talented filly Foxborough went within a short half head of giving Australian Horse of the Year Dissident his first stakes-winner when she missed narrowly in the Listed ATC Fernhill Handicap at Randwick on Saturday.
The John Sargent trained filly finished fourth on debut at Hawkesbury last month, but showed serious stakes potential for the future with this fast finishing performance.
She hit the line hard to split two promising colts in Power Scheme and Extraordinary.
Passed in and retained to race by her breeder Geoff Grimish, Foxborough is from stakes-placed import Sense of Pride (Can).
Foxborough looms as a bright prospect for Dissident, who covered some 217 mares last spring.
