A scintillating five length romp to win the Listed BRC Phelan Ready Stakes at Doomben last Saturday by I Am Invincible colt Sundance not only made his connections very happy but also the owners of his dam and his yearling full brother headed to the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
Sundance is the fourth foal and best to date from 12 year-old Desert Prince (IRE) mare Pacific Dreams, who was bought by James Harron Bloodstock for just $20,000 at the 2014 Inglis Broodmare Sale.
She produced a colt for her new owners by I Am Invincible in 2014 that was subsequently sold as a weanling by Newgate earlier this year.
Snapped up by Paul Whelan’s Luskin Park for $32,000 at the MM National Sale, he’s now looking like a very astute pick-up.
He’s grown into a lovely colt and is among the Luskin Park entries for the 2016 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
“He’s strong, sensible, a great mover and very light on his feet,” reports Paul Whelan.
Pacific Dreams has delivered the goods again for Newgate Farm this spring producing this handsome bay colt by Starspangledbanner, but will be left empty this year.
The Toby Edmonds trained Sundance is now likely to go straight into the $2million Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January, so there could be more upside to come for Pacific Dreams.
