Newgate Farm is delighted to announce our three first season stallions are all proving ferocious in the breeding barn early in the season.
“It is always a nervous wait for the first pregnancy scans to come in for new stallions, but the news is all good,” said Director of Stallions, Bruce Slade.
“Deep Field, Dissident and Wandjina have been blessed with virility and great fertility to date.”
Each of them already have over 20 mares pregnant, with some real quality amongst the mares tested in foal.
Track record breaker Deep Field has high class young race mares Pane In The Glass (Testa Rossa), Cathay Lady (Exceed and Excel) and Vecchia Roma (Testa Rossa) in foal, along with More Joyous’ full sister Most Joyful (More Than Ready) among others.
City Of Song (Bel Esprit), Lovemelikearock (Fastnet Rock), Assail (Charge Forward), and Koonoomoo (Dubleo) are all young stakes winning mares who have early pregnancies to likely 2014/15 Australian Horse Of The Year Dissident.
Million dollar yearling and Guineas winner Wandjina is off to a good start as well with Happy Archer and Femina Fashion’s dam So Tempted (Jeune) in foal, along with Group I winner Happyanunoit (Yachtie) and stakes winning mares Total Response (Kheleyef) and Maslins Beach (Flying Spur).
