Newgate Farm’s exciting young shuttle sire The Factor (USA) made a keen impression at US yearling sales last year and the good results have continued this week at the OBS March Selected 2YO Sale in Florida.
His top seller was a filly from stakes-winner Silver Cub that made $375,000 to the bid of Speedway Stable.
She was the second highest priced filly sold during the opening session and was a successful pinhook having been bought for $160,000 at the OBS August Yearling Sale last year.
Not far behind was a cracking The Factor colt from Cat Dance, a full sister to Group I winner Forest Secrets. He made $310,000 when secured by Stan Hough as agent for Sagamore Farm.
Also posting a good result was a colt from Oneminutetomidnite that made $270,000 when bought by Narvick International.
An explosive dual Group I winning son of War Front, The Factor has covered two good books of mares in Australia at Newgate Farm and will have his first locally bred yearlings offered at sales in 2017. The Factor’s first crop of Australian weanlings are set to sell at the Inglis Weanling Sale and Magic Millions National Weanling Sale this May.
