The first major yearling sale of the year in North America took place on Thursday with the first yearlings by Newgate Farm’s dashing grey shuttle sire The Factor (USA) making a pleasing impression at the 2015 Fasig-Tipton July Selected Yearling Sale in Kentucky.
A brilliantly fast dual Group I winning son of War Front, The Factor had five yearlings offered for sale and all were sold, his best result coming with a filly from Ramblin Rosie that made $250,000 to the bid of Gainesway.
Grey in colour like her sire, the filly is from a half-sister to Group I winner Buddy Gil.
Also selling well for The Factor was a colt from Twilite Rendezvous that made $155,000 and a filly from You’re Beingplayed that made $150,000.
The Factor posted an average of $144,000 from his five youngsters sold representing a great return on his US service fee of $15,000.
The Factor is slated to return to Newgate Farm this spring at a fee of $16,500 and covered 115 mares here last year.
