Blue-blooded Fastnet Rock filly Alter Call has been off the scene since March of this year, but showed she had lost none of her talent when casting off maiden status with ease at Werribee on Sunday.
Prepared by Mick Price, three year-old filly Alter Call was second to Selenia when making her debut in a Listed race at Flemington on March 5.
Making her return in the 1110 metre maiden as favourite, Alter Call lived up to expectation when leading throughout to win by a length and three-quarters.
A $1,050,000 Magic Millions purchase for China Horse Club from the Newgate Farm draft, Alter Call carries their colours and runs for them and the Newgate / SF Bloodstock partnership.
Alter Call is the first foal and first winner for dual Group I winner Response, who was on-sold by Newgate in 2015 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare for $1.5 million to Katsumi Yoshida.
