Newgate Farm’s exciting young sire Foxwedge added another UK winner to his tally overnight with promising colt Lanjano scoring an easy victory at Redcar.
The Kevin Ryan trained colt improved at his second outing on good ground to dash away and win the six furlong maiden by a length and three-quarters.
Lanjano is entered for a Listed race at the same venue in October.
He is the third winner for Hot Property, a Thunder Gulch half-sister to Group II winner New Economy and to the dam of US Group I winner Noble’s Promise.
Lanjano is the sixth winner for Foxwedge in the UK bringing his overall total in both hemispheres to 16 winners – 6 in Australia, two in NZ and one each in Ireland and the US.
A Group I winning son of Fastnet Rock, Foxwedge stands this spring at a fee of $22,000.
