A stunning chestnut colt from the first crop of Newgate Farm’s young gun sire Sizzling stole the show at the Gold Coast on Tuesday to top the 2017 Magic Millions March Yearling Sale.
The third last lot of the sale, the colt from Crimson Belle proved well worth the wait when fetching $160,000 for Gleeson Thoroughbred Connections after being knocked down to Group I trainer Gary Moore.
He is the fourth foal of Crimson Belle, a lightly raced Red Ransom (USA) three quarter sister-in-blood to Group III winner and $932,000 earner Crimson Reign.
“He was the colt of the sale,” a delighted Gary Moore enthused after buying the colt.
“I really like Sizzling – he was a great Magic Millions graduate and I’m hoping this colt will run as well as he looks.
“The colt looks a natural early two-year-old and he will be set for the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January.”
