Sent out a short priced favourite at Ascot in Perth on Saturday for the open juvenile event, talented Sizzling filly Amelia’s on Fire produced a stylish debut victory.
The Simon Miller trained filly was third in the run and quickly zoomed past her rivals down the running to win the 1000 metre scamper by a length and a half.
A $100,000 Inglis Australian Weanling Sale purchase for Aquanita Racing from the Davali Thoroughbreds draft, Amelia’s on Fire is the fourth winner from Zugat, a half-sister by King Cugat (USA) to stakes-winner Unison from Group III winner Zedagal.
Davali Thoroughbreds sold the full brother to Amelia’s on Fire at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale last week for $37,000.
Amelia’s on Fire is the 20th winner this season for Sizzling, whose progeny have won over $1.2 million and include three stakes horses in Sizzleme, Blazing Miss and Secret Blaze.
