Newgate Farm’s Foxwedge posted another smart UK winner overnight with Tap Tap Boom successful at Epsom to become his 14th winner in both hemispheres.
Trained by George Baker, Tap Tap Boom was stepping up to seven furlongs for the first time after placing at his first three starts and led throughout before surging clear to win by a length and a quarter.
Bought for 22,000 guineas by his trainer at the Goffs Doncaster Yearling Sale last year, Tap Tap Boom is a half-brother to stakes-placed Into the Light from good producer Exclusive Approval.
He is the sixth Northern Hemisphere winner for Foxwedge, who also has six Australian winners and two in New Zealand including stakes-winner Volpe Veloce.
A Group I winning son of champion sire Fastnet Rock, Foxwedge stands this spring at a fee of $22,000.
