The very first sale conducted at the new Riverside Stables complex at Warwick Farm, the 2018 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale proved a resounding success for Newgate Farm and our clients with final results for Book One revealing Newgate as the leading vendor by aggregate.
We sold 25 yearlings for $2,897,500 at an average price of $115,900 with our best result the Dissident colt from Future Saint (USA), who made $300,000 when bought by George Moore Bloodstock.
He was a successful pinhook for Newgate Farm having been bought from the Inglis Chairman’s Sale last year for $160,000 and is a half-brother to stakes-placed Saint Aggie.
“He is a magnificent colt who looks like and moves like his dad with a big deep girth and head. He was the most admired horse in our draft by a long way and we are just delighted that he is going to get every opportunity at John Moore’s stable,” Newgate Farm’s Bruce Slade told ANZ Bloodstock News.
“He was sold at the Chairman’s Sale. Newgate bought him to bring him back to the farm and raise him and give him every hope.”
Our top selling filly was also by Dissident from Savanna La Mar, the half-sister to Group II winner Savanna Amour purchased by Henderson Racing/ Andrew Williams Bloodstock for $215,000.
We congratulate all purchasers and wish everyone the best of luck going forward.
