Scoring by the biggest margin of the day at Canterbury on Wednesday was talented Fastnet Rock mare Santa Rocks, a $350,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the draft of Newgate Farm for Paul Messara/ Blue Sky Bloodstock.
Prepared by Hawkes Racing, Santa Rocks was sent out favourite for the 1900 metre Benchmark72 event over 1900 metres and led her rivals a merry dance to win by four and a half lengths.
With three wins and four seconds from 12 starts, Santa Rocks is racing well and can undoubtedly win a few more races before the end of the season.
Santa Rocks runs for a big syndicate that includes her breeders and Arrowfield Stud.
She is the first foal of Aussie Christmas (USA), an unraced half-sister to Group I winner and sire Harlan’s Holiday.
