Newgate Farm’s Australian Horse of the Year Dissident did best of the first season sires during the first session of the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale on Monday posting an outstanding result for his colt from stakes-winner Assail.
He made $800,000 for Newgate Farm when bought by China Horse Club / WinStar Farm.
Catalogued as Lot 22, he failed to make an appearance in the ring at his scheduled selling time due to a minor mishap, but appeared as the very last lot at the end of the day and sparked instant attention from buyers.
Bred by Love Racing, he is the second foal of his dam who is by Charge Forward, the sire of the dam of the last two Golden Slipper winners in She Will Reign and Estijaab.
The sale continues.
