Last seen finishing fourth behind Group winning colt Sixties in a maiden at Randwick last August, three year-old Capitalist gelding Outer Banks reappeared at Bendigo on Friday and duly came home a winner.
A full brother to Group I winning juvenile Captivant, Outer Banks made $625,000 at the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale for Ashleigh Thoroughbreds to top that sale when purchased by China Horse Club / Newgate / Go / Trilogy.
He had two race starts for the stallion syndicate in Sydney before being gelded and offered on Inglis Digital in September last year where he made $37,500 when bought by Sparta Racing to join the stable of Emma- Lee and David Browne.
Outer Banks charged to the line from back in the field to win the 1000m maiden running away at his first start for his new connections.

A full brother to Group I ATC Champagne Stakes winner Captivant and half-brother to Group III placed Warby, Outer Banks is the fifth winner from six foals to race from terrific producer Speedboat, whose yearling colt by Capitalist will be offered in the Newgate draft as Lot 119.
Speedboat has a weanling colt to follow by Extreme choice and was covered by him again last spring.
