Promising young sire Wandjina featured with a brilliant debut winner at Morphettville on Saturday with Hearty Lass leading all the way for an impressive win.
Trained on the track by John Hyam, Hearty Lass showed good ability in her only previous trial win and ran right up to that indication when dominating her rivals to win the 1000 metre scamper by three and a half lengths.
A $40,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft for her trainer and Cameron Cooke bloodstock, Hearty Lass is the fourth winner from stakes-winning Tale of the Cat mare Amazing Tale (USA).
Hearty Lass is the third winner for Wandjina, who has also sired stakes-placed Deep Chill and Grand Scholar.
