Newgate Farm’s marquee sire Extreme Choice enjoyed 100% clearance at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale with eight yearlings offered and all were sold at an average $316,250, a sum more than double the sale average of $146,990.
His top seller was a striking grey colt from Ariaz offered by Milburn Creek that sold for $540,000 to MyRacehorse Pty Ltd / Michael Freedman Racing / Belmont Bloodstock.
Michael Freedman has already had notable G1 success with Extreme Choice to produce Golden Slipp winner Stay Inside and Group I ATC Flight stakes winner Apocalyptic, who runs in the MyRacehorse colours as will this colt.
‘Extreme Choice is such a good stallion, and having the colt go to a trainer like MIchael Freedman, who’s had really good success for us with Apocalyptic, Ninja and a few others, it’s a marriage made in heaven,” said My Racehorse’s Ben Willis.
“He looks fast, looks like an early two-year old, and hopefully he can do that on the track.”
Ariaz produced another colt by Extreme Choice last spring.
Russian Revolution also had 100% clearance with all eight of his yearlings in Book 1 selling and his best result was $220,000 for a filly from Group I winner First Seal that was offered by The Chase and bought by C Menzies / Rick Connolly Bloodstock.
Stay Inside had some strong results and his top seller also came in at $220,000 with a filly from stakes-placed Zoustar mare Cap Estel offered by Rosemont Stud selling to Griffiths Racing.
Tassort also made his presence felt with the Segenhoe Stud consigned filly from Spurs and Sashes selling for $310,000. The half-sister to stakes-winner Boston Rocks was bought by Lindsay Park Racing / Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock.
Capitalist is the leading sire of Australian winners this season and his best result at this sale came with the full brother to his young sire son Profiteer. The Newgate offered colt from Group III placed Athena Lass made $200,000 when secured by China Horse Club / Newgate Bloodstock & Partners.
Profiteer had his best ever sales result with a colt from Clever Buttons (NZ) fetching $170,000 when offered by Newgate and snapped up by Cameron Cooke Bloodstock / Scott Cameron.
