The juvenile event at the midweek metro meeting at Hawkesbury on Wednesday over 1100m featured all first starters and some very well-bred youngsters with the flashy chestnut Extreme Choice colt Extremely Tempted getting the cash.
Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Extremely Tempted had looked good at the trials with a second to boom colt The Next Episode followed by a stylish win in preparation for race day.
Regan Bayliss rode him in both trials and was aboard again today with Extremely Tempted taking charge of proceedings early in the race before leading all the way to win by nearly two lengths over Savvy Hallie’s half-sister Katoto with $1.2million I Am Invincible filly Rocket Girl closing off well for third.

“He’s a professional horse, and when he was able to jump as cleanly as he did, and get to that position, and control the race, the way he was travelling I was very confident it was going to take a very good horse to run him down because I know he’s a sharp type himself,” said Adrian Bott.
“I think each year at this time we see some horses come through these midweek races that go on to be group quality horses for us.
“You go into these races and there’s plenty of depth to them, and I’m sure there’s some nice horses that were behind him that will come out and frank the form as well.”
Regan Bayliss has fast become a fan of Extremely Tempted.
“He’s a lovely horse. He’ll be even better in the spring. I think he’s got quite a lot of potential there and both trials have been terrific,” he said.
“He just keeps getting better and better and I’m very happy with his win today.
“I think today will end up being not a bad form race when you look back on it as there were some handy ones in there, and he put them away nicely, and he’s only going to keep improving.”
A $550,000 Magic Millions purchase from Newgate Farm for Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing/Kestrel Thoroughbreds/Kia Ora Stud, Extremely Tempted runs for an ownership group headed by Kia Ora Stud.
Bred by the Newgate/ Gooree Joint Venture, he is the third winner from three foals to race from Group III winner Tempt Me Not, a grand-daughter of dual Group I winner Tempest Morn.
This pedigree has been making news of late as Golden Slipper winner Guest House also traces back to this same family.
Extreme Choice made it a double for the day with the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr trained three year-old gelding Lauberhorn making a winning debut at Sale as a short priced favourite.
