The team at Newgate Farm have been thrilled with the performance of our young sire Foxwedge at the 2015 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale with 11 of his youngsters averaging $161,364 to make him the leading first season sire at this sale by average.
Foxwedge returned 4.9 times his 2012 service fee of $33,000, achieving strong profits for his supporters.
His top seller and indeed the highest priced colt at this sale was a glorious bay from Group I placed Glowlamp that was consigned by Newgate Farm for his breeders Dr Edmund and Belinda Bateman and bought by astute Newcastle trainer Paul Perry for $420,000.
It’s the highest price yet paid for a yearling by Foxwedge, but with the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale (April 7, 8 and 9) looming on the horizon it’s a record that may not stand for long!
Foxwedge has 33 outstanding entries catalogued for Inglis Easter, so watch this space!
