Newgate Farm finished the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale this week with 100% clearance having sold all 14 yearlings brought to the sale highlighted by an Extreme Choice filly and colt that sold for $425,00 and $360,000.
Star Thoroughbreds Pty Ltd / Vin Cox Bloodstock purchased our filly from Nais Ko and Mick Price, who trained Extreme Choice throughout his racing career after purchasing him at Inglis Classic as a yearling, picked up the colt from Altair’s Glow.
Nais Ko produced a colt by Extreme Choice last year and Altair’s Glow had a colt by In the Congo, whose first yearlings were well received at this sale.
G1 Golden Rose winner In The Congo had 15 yearlings sell for an aggregate $1,216,000 and did best with a colt from Kasuga that made $160,000 for Glenlogan Park when bought by McEvoy Racing / Belmont Bloodstock.
He had a further five yearlings sell for $100,000 or more.
Dual Group I winner Artorius made his mark with a colt from Family Crest fetching $200,000 for Lynton Farm when bought by Darby Racing / Anthony & Sam Freedman / Julian Blaxland Bloodstock.
Cox Plate hero State of Rest (IRE) was also well found with three yearlings selling for $100,000 or more and Sullivan Bloodstock had the best result for him when selling a colt from De La Fayette for $110,000 to Ozbloodstock Co Ltd.
