It’s a pretty safe bet that there has been only one foal born at Newgate Farm by Tasmanian sire Ladoni (GB), so you can imagine why the team were excited to see promising four year-old Genuine Lad claim a popular win in the Group III Launceston Cup in Tasmania on Wednesday.

He was able to turn the tables on that formidable foe when drawing clear to win the 2400 metre staying test by more than a length, his overall record now an impressive five wins and 10 placings from 17 starts with prizemoney nearing $260,000.
