Fresh from siring progressive colt Berzelius to win the $1million Group II BRC Sires Produce Stakes at Eagle Farm on Saturday, Newgate Farm’s Extreme Choice was always going to make his presence felt at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale this week with the first of his four entries for this sale selling for $580,000.
Consigned by Newgate, the filly was born on December 18 and is the third foal of Group III winner Volks Lightning (NZ).
She was snapped up by Michael Freedman Racing/Andrew Williams Bloodstock, so will go into the same stable that has already produced Extreme Choice’s Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside and last Saturday’s exciting colt Berzelius.
“These Extreme Choice’s are going gangbusters,” Michael Freedman said. “The stallion couldn’t be going any better.
“On the back of having another (Group Two) winner with him on Saturday I thought it would be worth coming up and having a look at this filly.
“When I saw her this morning I thought she was a gorgeous type. When you got her out of the box she didn’t look like a December foal – there was plenty of strength.”
Extreme Choice has three more yearlings to be offered by Newgate on Tuesday as follows:
Lot 1040- Foaled October 27 – Half-sister to a winner f rom Artemis Rose, a winning Lonhro mare from the True Blonde branch of the Easy Date family that has produced Golden Slipper winner Forensics and Group winning filly Arabian Summer, who sold for $1million at the recent Inglis Chairman’s Sale to Arrowfield Stud/ Hermitage Thoroughbreds.
Lot 1077 – Foaled December 13 – Full brother to metro winner Pimlico and is from imported SW Coco As in Chanel (USA).
Lot 1150 – Foaled December 27 – Half-sister to three winners and she is the fourth foal from imported SW Iron Mizz (USA).
