Red hot young sire Deep Field sired his seventh winner of the new season when the Darryl Hansen trained Go Deep scored a tenacious win at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
Gelded after winning at the Sunshine Coast in July, Go Deep was fit and ready to fire for this 1000 metre dash and has now won two of five starts.
Go Deep was a $70,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainer from the Noorilim Stud draft and was a successful pinhook having been bought for $50,000 from the Newgate Farm draft at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale the year before.
Go Deep is the first winner from Que Cee, a winning half-sister to Group II winner Court Command.
Go Deep is one of 26 first crop winners for Northern Meteor’s outstanding son Deep Field, whose offspring are headed by Group winners Dig Deep and Cosmic Force
Deep Field is fully booked at a fee of $44,000.
