Two wins in as many starts has made the Kris Lees trained Wandjina filly Wandabaa a popular girl with her large group of owners put together by Australian Bloodstock.
Wandabaa was a short priced favourite for the 1100 metre open juvenile event at Armidale on Tuesday, carrying 58kg to a soft length and a half win and is now undefeated on two barrier trials and two races.
A $36,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Ascot Park draft for Australian Bloodstock, Wandabaa was bred by Bob Hannon and is the fourth winner from four to race from Mabkhara, a half-sister to Group III placed Lucky Eighty Eight from the family of Group I winners Rewaaya and Sense of Occasion.
Wandabaa is one of seven first crop winners for snitzel’s Group I winning son Wandjina, who has three stakes horses in Grand Scholar, Deep Chill and Express Pass.
Wandjina stands at Newgate at a fee of $22,000.
