Newgate Farm’s explosive grey shuttle sire The Factor (USA) had good results at the North American yearling sales last year and they have flowed through to the 2016 2YO in Training Sales where the speed and precocity of his offspring has impressed at every turn.
At the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale a filly by The Factor from Ramblin Rosie proved a star attraction when galloping out a quarter mile in 21 3/5 before going on to fetch $510,000 in the sale ring.
Consigned by Eddie Woods, the fleet footed grey was bought by Stonestreet Stables and was a super successful pinhook having been bought as a yearling for $250,000 by Gainesway at the Fasig Tipton July Sale last year.
“The plan was to break her and see how she was going,” said Gainesway’s Michael Hernon.
“She grew appreciably. She is a big, rangy filly and very balanced, correct and a good mover. She breezed here very well. She came right on the day.”
Also impressing buyers was The Factor colt from Tina’s Goal that made $400,000 when bought by St Elias Stables.
The first Australian bred youngsters by The Factor will be on show at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale starting on Sunday with 12 entries by the dual Group I winning son of War Front.
All weanlings by The Factor are consigned by Newgate Farm and Donnybrook Estates and to see the pedigrees click here.
The Factor is due back in Australia this spring for Newgate Farm and stands at a fee of $16,500.
