First crop yearlings by Group I ATC Golden Rose winner In The Congo proved popular at the NZB Karaka Book 1 Sale this week with four of them offered and all were sold at an average $252,500.
Leading the way for In The Congo was a beautiful chestnut filly from Anaween that made $400,000 for Little Avondale Stud when purchased by David Ellis.
A half-sister to good Australian metropolitan winners Tympanist and Castilian, the star filly comes from the family of Group I winners Metal Bender and Amarelinha.
Ardsley Stud were also well rewarded with their half-sister to Group I winner War Machine from Caserta that sold for $300,000 to Stephen Marsh Racing / Dylan Johnson Bloodstock.
In The Congo has good numbers for upcoming sales with 18 for Inglis Classic.
