Newgate Farm sold current juvenile stakes-winner Zamzam from their Inglis Easter draft, but she’s not the only talented Redoute’s Choice filly they have sold in recent years with this brilliant debut winner at Gosford on Thursday looming as a miss with a bright future.
The Kris Lees trained Clevedon Bay shot away to win the 1100 metre maiden by three lengths as favourite in the tartan colours of Ron and Judy Wanless.
A $410,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Scone Bloodstock Services, Clevedon Bay was bred by SF Bloodstock and is the second winner for Group II winning Spinning World (USA) mare Kosi Bay, a sibling to Group I winner Calveen, Group III winner Fireworks and stakes-winner Striker.
Kosi Bay is the dam of a yearling filly by Fastnet Rock that will be offered by Newgate Farm at Inglis Easter as Lot367 and was one of 153 mares covered last spring by Newgate Farm’s Group I winner Wandjina.
