Announced as an exciting new addition to the Newgate stallion roster this week, Wodeton is assured to covered a quality book of mares this spring at his value fee of $16,500 with Pacific Dragon, purchased today on Inglis Digital for $255,000 set to visit the son of Wootton Bassett (GB).
A Group II placed stakes-winner, Pacific Dragon is a half-sister by Charm Spirit (GB) to Group I placed Sweltering from a prolific Black Type family.
Offered by Tyreel Stud in foal to Maurice(Jpn) , Pacific Dragon sold for $255,000 to Guy Mulcaster Bloodstock, who confirmed the mare would visit Wodeton this spring.
“She’s a nice, young stakes-winning mare that I bought for a client to go to Wodeton,’’ Mulcaster said.
“I had a lot to do with him and he was a very, very talented horse that was unlucky not to win a Golden Slipper.
“I reckon he’s an absolute no brainer at his service fee.’’
Tyreel’s Linda Monds added: “It’s a great result. She’s a beautiful mare and while it’s a really good result for us, I think the purchaser has a great mare on their hands too so it really is a case of everyone’s a winner.
“She’s only had two foals so far and they’ve both been very nice. The mare has been great for me and I’m thrilled she will remain in great hands with the new owners.’’
