Wild Ruler moved to eight first crop winners on Saturday when the Matt Hoysted trained Rule the Night saluted at the Gold Coast for Proven Thoroughbreds.
Second on debut at Doomben last month, Rule the Night was stepped out to 1400m and handled the heavy ground to charge home from back in the field to win by a head as favourite.

An $80,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newgate draft for Proven Thoroughbreds/Matt Hoysted Racing, Rule the Night was bred by Nick Vass and is the second foal and second winner from Taylor’s Dream, a half-sister by Rubick to Group II winner Swift Witness.
Taylor’s Dream was on-sold at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale in 2024 for $140,000 to Windsor Park Stud / B Kwok and produced a colt by In the Congo for her new owners last year.
Rule the Night is the eighth winner for Wild Ruler and they include G2 winner Stretan Ruler and SW Queen Regent as well as stakes-placed Savage Look.
The Group I winning son of Snitzel is priced at $27,500 this spring.
