The burgeoning Newgate Farm roster features a breathtaking selection of outstanding prospects priced competitively across a broad spectrum to suit a wide range of breeders.
Heading the roster at $55,000 is Capitalist (Written Tycoon), the Champion 2YO of his generation and a brilliant winner of the Group I ATC Golden Slipper and Magic Millions 2YO Classic. His book is now full.
Two of his Group I winning sparring partners – Extreme Choice (Not a Single Doubt) and Flying Artie (Artie Schiller (USA) are next on the list at $38,500 with record breaking Group II winner Winning Rupert (Written Tycoon) our other new recruit priced at $22,000.
Priced at $22,000 is Foxwedge (Fastnet Rock), who is our only sire with runners to date. With his oldest progeny now three year-olds, Foxwedge has established himself as a great source of winners in both hemispheres.
His best local progeny are headed by top class Group I winning filly Foxplay, a brilliant winner over older mares of the$1million ATC Coolmore Legacy Queen of the Turf Stakes, Group II winner Volpe Veloce and stakes-winner Kentucky Miss.
Set to have their first two year-olds competing next season are Sizzling (Snitzel), The Factor (USA) (War Front) and Eurozone (Northern Meteor), whose yearlings have all sold well this year and entered the stables of our leading trainers.
The first weanlings by Australian Horse of the Year Dissident (Sebring), Group I VRC Australian Guineas hero Wandjina (Snitzel) and scintillating sprinter Deep Field (Northern Meteor) are poised to impress in coming months and will be sure to star at the yearling sales of 2018.
The trio are already making headlines!
Wandjina had the top seller at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale last Friday with the three-quarter brother to Group I winner Russian Revolution fetching $335,000. Deep Field impressed with a colt from young stakes-winner Impetuous selling for $250,000 and Dissident had a flashy chestnut colt from Djina sell for $180,000.
We look forward to the arrival of the first foals for lightning fast juvenile Super One (I Am Invincible) in the spring given his warm reception last year.
