She’s by a Golden Slipper winning sire and out of a Golden Slipper winning dam and while this three year-old filly finished her juvenile season unraced, Loera is on her way to better things after scoring her second win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Capitalist filly Loera was second on debut last month at Rosehill, then broke her maiden at Canterbury and made a smooth transition to Benchmark 72 company.
Ridden by Tim Clark, Loera was taking on older rivals and stepping out to 1300m and made light work of the task when skipping clear to win by more than two lengths.
2 in a row for LOERA🚀
The beautifully bred filly by CAPITALIST 🏆 leads from pillar to post to land another dominant win for the @GaiWaterhouse1 team💪
Retained to race by the Altomonte family, she looks a star in the making!⭐️

Loera was retained to race by the Altomonte family, who also bred and raced her dam Overreach, winner of the 2013 Golden Slipper for Gai Waterhouse before Adrian Bott joined the training partnership.
Adrian Bott has been happy to progress quietly for now with Loera, but this stylish win will no doubt have connections considering Black Type options before the season ends.
With two wins and a second from three starts and prizemoney topping $111,000, Loera is a half-sister to Group II winning sprinter Lofty Strike, who now stands at Swettenham Stud, and is the fifth winner from five foals to race from Overreach, who was the Champion 2YO Filly of 2012/2013.
Overreach has an unraced two year-old filly by Snitzel called Piaffe, that is trained by Peter Snowden and produced a filly last spring by Zoustar before being covered by Extreme Choice.
Newgate Farn’s Capitalist is setting the pace on the Australian sires by winners list with 152 on the board including six stakes-winners and priced at $44,000 this spring represents outstanding value.
