Newgate Farm based Wild Ruler posted his tenth Australian winner at Echuca on Friday with a dazzling six length win for the John McArdle trained gelding Myhro’s Ruler.
Resuming from a spell after finishing out of the placings on debut in the Listed MVRC Valley Pearl back in March, Myhro’s Ruler was a short priced favourite for the 1000m maiden with Jamie Mott to ride.
He made light work of the heavy 9 track, powering clear of his rivals with a furlong to run and opening right up to win as he pleased.

The ability to handle a wet track at this time of year is a big positive and he certainly ticked that box so connections will no doubt look to up the ante for his next start with the spring carnival on the horizon.
Myhro’s Ruler was passed in as a yearling when offered at MM Tasmania by Armidale Stud and retained to race by the Breese family. He is the fifth winner from five foals to race from Myhro, a winning half-sister by Lonhro to stakes-winner Snitz from Group II winner Tickle My.
The family has been nurtured over many years by astute Victorian breeder Ken Breese, who also bred Myhro Ruler’s dam and grand-dam, not to mention other stakes-winners on the page such as Group II winner I’ll Have a Bit and this season’s stakes-winner Yum.
Myhro’s Ruler is the 11th winner in total for Wild Ruler, who has a winner in the Philippines in addition to his 10 in Australia that include Group II winner Stretan Ruler, stakes-winner Queen Regent and stakes-placed Savage Look.
Wild Ruler stands at a fee of $27,500 this spring.
