A promising debut winner at Ballarat on Tuesday, Double Dodger is a filly to keep a good eye on and not just for the races she may go on to win, but also for the fact she has an older half-sister that might end this season a G1 winner.
Trained by Jerome Hunter and ridden by Craig Newitt, three year-old Profiteer filly Double Dodger was stepping out for the first time in the 1200m maiden with a good showing expected as punters sent her off at 5-1.
A big strong filly, she settled midfield on the fence and after working between runners was able to surge through a gap with a good turn of foot to go on and score a soft length and a half win.

A savvy $20,000 Inglis Weanling Sale purchase from Blue Gum Farm, Double Dodger runs for Graeme Gathercole’s Graebar Park.
Bred by Trilogy Racing at Blue Gum Farm, Double Dodger is the second winner from well bred Al Maher mare Alliterate and is a half-sister to highly progressive sprinter Extragalactic.
Trained by Trent Edmonds, four year-old Deep Field mare Extragalactic has three wins and three seconds from just seven starts and ended last season beaten a nose in the Group I SAJC the Goodwood to Desert Lightning.
Extragalactic had a jump out at Pakenham earlier this morning and looked awesome with this brilliant display of speed.

Trilogy Racing purchased Alliterate from the Newgate Consignment at the 2023 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $80,000 in foal to Profiteer with Double Dodger the result of that mating.
Double Dodger is the eighth winner from the first crop of Profiteer, who stands at Newgate at a fee of $11,000 this spring.
