The Tom Charlton trained filly Tigroni was the first Tiger of Malay to raise her hand with three consecutive placings in top company over the summer earning her a crack at the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and at Gosford on Thursday she scored a long overdue maiden win.
Tigroni was second on debut at Randwick to subsequent Group I winner Fireball and then placed behind classy fillies By Choice and then Shiki before finishing unplaced at the Gold Coast, but her effort that day was enough to get her the ladies only bonus first past the post delivering a lucrative pay day for her owners.
Tigroni looked well placed in an 1100m maiden with Zac Lloyd to ride and duly got the cash scoring by more than two lengths.

An $85,000 Magic Millions purchase from Newgate for O’Shea-Charlton Racing/James Bester Bloodstock/Ladies Syndicate, Tigroni has banked over $450,000 from her lone win and four placings from seven starts.
Bred by Aston Bloodstock, she is the first winner from stakes-placed O’Reilly mare Campari, a grand-daughter of Group I winner Pernod.
Tigroni is the sixth winner for Extreme Choice’s Group winning son Tiger of Malay and is priced at $11,000 this spring offering a very affordable way to access one of the most potent sirelines in Australia.
