A year ago talented Tassort filly Miss Freelove ran fourth in the Listed Woodlands Stakes at the big Saturday meeting at Scone and she returned to the same venue to capture the $200,000 Listed Denise’s Joy Stakes (1100m) as a three year-old.
Trained by Peter Snowden, Miss Freelove was Group III placed last spring at Flemington behind highly rated filly Point Barrow and then won the Magic Millions Sunlight Consolation Plate in January.
Second up from a spell at Scone, she was easy in the market and produced a well timed finish for Rachel King to slide through on the fence and snatch a narrow head win.

Winkers were added to her gear for today and credited with helping Miss Freelove achieve her first stakes win.
“We had a good barrier, she got a nice run and putting the winkers on helped,” King said.
“She was able to travel well through the race and stayed in contention.
“They know she has a really good turn of foot so just being able to settle midfield, relax and be there ready to pounce from the 300m, I knew she was going to be hard to hold out.
“She really attacked the line, she’s tough and wanted to win.”
Miss Freelove carries the Trilogy Racing colours and was a $110,000 Magic Millions Adelaide purchase for Trilogy Racing/Suman Hedge Bloodstock from the draft of Twin Hills Stud.
With four wins and three placings from 10 starts and earnings topping $400,000, Miss Freelove is now a valuable commodity as a stakes-winner and might have further opportunities before the end of the season.
Stable representative Arron Lau said Miss Freelove was on track to join the Snowden trained horses campaigning in Brisbane.
“Miss Freelove was excellent and we always knew she would run a strong 1100m,” Lau said.
“We added the winkers because she has been getting a little too far back in her races.
“But she was able to enjoy a good run through the race, Rachel’s gave her a great ride and the filly was really game under pressure.”
Bred by Redbank North, she is the best of three winners from three to race from Vee, an unraced half-sister by Sebring to stakes-winner Terror Force.
Miss Freelove is the fourth stakes-winner for Tassort, who stands at Newgate this spring at a fee of $33,000.
