Tiger of Malay offers breeders the chance to go to a Group winning son of freakish sire Extreme Choice at a fee of just $11,000 and even better, he’s getting his winners with two new winners in the past two days.
The Mitch Beer and George Carpenter stable got an overdue win at Moruya on Monday with three year-old filly Yamashita, who broke through in the 1020m maiden as favourite.
Placed at three of her four previous starts, Yamashita scored by half a length and has already recouped her $40,000 purchase having been snapped up by her trainer from the Redbank North draft at Inglis Classic.
Yamashita is the fourth winner from four foals to race from winning Foreplay mare Pillow Talk, who descends in tail female line to Group I VRC Oaks winner Sandy’s Pleasure.
Yamashita followed on from Tigrios, who broke his maiden at Tamworth on Sunday for the Scott Singleton stable.
Tiger of Malay has sired six winners this season which puts him in second place amongst his second season peers behind only Pinatubo (IRE) and Wild Ruler.
