With 11 Aussie winners last season, Wild Ruler had more first crop winners than any sire other than Home Affairs and he has flown the gates with two new winners on Thursday.
Improving from a debut second at Scone last month, the Nathan Doyle trained gelding Count du Money opened his account at Gosford when scoring by half a length over 1100m.

A $200,000 Magic Millions purchase from Attunga Stud for Doyle Racing/Mitchell Bloods, Count du Money is Count Du Money is the fourth winner from five to race from Wanted mare Wanted Lady, a half-sister to stakes-winner Missy Cummings, the dam of Group I winner Mizzy and Group II winner She’s Got Pizzazz.
Twenty minutes later, Wild Ruler recorded his second winner from as many runners on the day as 3yo filly Face The Wild saluted for the Tony and Calvin McEvoy stable.
Resuming recently with an unplaced effort at Caulfield, the First Light Racing owned filly started the short-priced favourite and won the 1000m maiden by three-quarters of a length at her fourth start.

A graduate of Telemon Thoroughbreds draft at the Magic Millions yearling sale when purchased by her trainers, First Light Racing and Belmont Bloodstock for $150,000, Face The Wild was a pinhook winner having been originally purchased for $55,000 at the Inglis Weanling sale when offered by Alma Vale and Kitchwin Hills partnership.
Wild Ruler has now sired 14 winners in total, 13 in Australia and one in the Philippines.
Not to be left out, Tiger of Malay also put a winner on the board for the new season when his talented gelding Forest King won over 1200m at Gosford for the John O’Shea and Tom Charlton stable.
A winner at Canterbury on debut back in February, Forest King has won two of four starts earning over $73,000 in prizemoney.
