At this time of year for a second crop sire every winner means something in the bid to attract mare bookings and Wild Ruler is certainly pressing his case after posting his sixth winner for the season on Monday when hot favourite Wild Monarch saluted.
Trained by astute country trainer Jenny Graham, Wild Monarch was resuming from a spell after placing at his first two runs earlier this year.
Taking on older rivals in the 1000m maiden at Taree, Wild Monarch tracked the speed and kicked right away to win by two lengths.

A $20,000 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale purchase for his trainer from Alma Vale Thoroughbreds, Wild Monarch has already recouped costs with the promise of more to come.
He is a half-brother to Group III winner Bound for Home and is the second winner from well bred Rothesay mare Homebird, a winning half-sister to the dam of Group II winner Chrysaor and stakes-winner Religify from the family of world champion sprinter Ian Smith.
Homebird has been back at Newgate and had a filly last year by Ozzmosis and was then covered by Cosmic Force.
Wild Monarch puts Wild Ruler at the top of the second crop sires table by winners placing him one ahead of Home Affairs.
A Group I winning sprinter by Snitzel, Wild Ruler stands at a fee of $27,500 at Newgate.
